Program Speakers and Workshop
Schedule for 2018
No matter how long you have been quilting,
you can always learn something new. Workshops give us the opportunity
to try a new technique and not invest a lot. You can learn new ways
to do things. If you are new to quilting it is a great opportunity
to not only learn from the workshop but from your fellow quilters.
Never stop learning! It's also a great way to have a day of fun!

Speakers Speakers Speakers
August 21, Speaker Debbie Maddie is going to share her
insights into Shibori Dyeing Techniques, information she has learned from
her trips to Japan! It will be a very interesting lecture and display at
the August meeting.
September 18, Speaker Ann Moore will present a trunkshow and
informative lecture about free motion quilting and using rulers with quilting.
Ann has some stunning work to share and your creative side will get a jolt
when you see the quilting you can accomplish.
October 16, Speaker Carol Morrissey: Big News, we will
get to see Carol Morrissey in
October! She will present her "Confessions of an Absent-Minded Quilter"
at our meeting.
Start planning for the November 21 meeting, gather your team
and let's have some fun while serving our Veteran community. Each 'team'
will create a 12 inch block from mystery fabric provided to be made
into a Quilt of Valor. You can pre-plan your block orientation, but
you will use the fabric provided at the meeting for our donation. Teams
can consist of however many members you'll need to cut, piece and assemble
one block during the activity portion of the meeting. We will have cutting
and ironing stations available, but teams should provide their own sewing
and piecing set ups. The goal is to have 12 teams, so we'll finish with
12 blocks for a lovely quilt. I'll be looking for a long arm specialist
to donate the quilting! Start putting together your team now and sign up
