Workshop Chairpserson 2019: Susie Emmons

The speakers and workshops are for you, the member.  If you have a favorite speaker, contact Vice President  and see if she can get them for 2019 or to fill in a spot this year.
No matter how long you have been quilting, you can always learn something new.  Workshops give us the opportunity to try a new technique and not invest a lot.  You can learn new ways to do things.  If you are new to quilting it is a great opportunity to not only learn from the workshop but from your fellow quilters.    Never stop learning!  It's also a great way to have a day of fun!

Program Speakers and Workshop Schedule for 2019

In January 15, Tina Hilton of Turtle Hand Batiks will present a trunk show and lecture about Malaysian Batiks, small batch handcrafted products featuring a variety of techniques.
February the artistry of Aprons will be presented by Kathleen Brown, a local apron historian. She will display an extensive collection of aprons, with “My Apron Story”.
Jodi Barrows will present the Square in a Square technique in her workshop and provide a trunk show and lecture at our guild meeting in March.**
April we will be visited by a local charitable group that provides fiber goods to Haiti. They will outline their work and donations.
May welcomes the Lakadaisies company with an extensive wool applique trunk show and workshop.
Maria Hall is our speaker in June. She is a longarm quilter with a vast array of techniques for creating and quilting one of a kind pieces.
July is our summer potluck and new member orien-tation.
In August we will ready ourselves for the Quilt Show and have another member garage sale! It’s sure to be a favorite!
In September, Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler, will present a trunk show and lecture with a work-shop on Wednesday. She is a certified Deb Tucker instructor.
Our October speaker is Martha Lindberg, the Wonky Dresden House Lady. She will provide a trunk show and lecture with a workshop! This is a very popular technique with dresden shapes.
November will highlight another sew-in event, cre-ating a donation quilt - either a Quilt of Valor or
another special donation quilt.
Our Holiday Celebration takes place in December, potluck and games with fun for all!

March 19 at Guild Meeting With Jodi Barrows, speaker, on her Square in a Square technique

If you haven’t ever tried and/or heard of the ‘Square in a Square®’ technique…you are in for an exciting learning experience with Jodi Barrows! For almost thirty years, Jodi has touched thousands of quilters throughout the world with her unique method. Her point of view provides the quilter with the freedom to create most any quilt design with speed and accu-racy. Jodi has spoken to quilting audiences through-out the United States, Canada, Australia, and Italy. Jodi has written dozens of books, (ten of which have been on the best sellers list), three novels, produced four tools, two video DVDs and five teacher’s books. Additionally, Jodi has a series of pattern books and fabrics based on a series of fiction novels that were written from the 1856 period about the Mailly women. This series is based on the women and quilts in Jodi’s family! (FYI: Jodi will have products to buy!)
