“Do
you know someone who quilts?” Well if you’re already on this website,
you probably are a quilter or know a quilter, but I believe that if you
were to poll 100 random people and ask them that same question, they would
all answer ‘yes’. Not only that but I bet you would hear 100 stories
about how they started quilting or who taught them to quilt and how they
plan to help pass on this lovely tradition. Hence the title ‘Quilts
across America…”.
You will find quilters all across
America, and so for this show we are featuring 50 quilts that will represent
each State in our wonderful Union.
The tradition of quilting is
alive and well and it is one thing that binds us all together. That
is why Quilt Guilds like ours vow to keep it going. Quilting… it’s
not just for Grandmothers anymore! And it’s not just to keep you
warm in the winter (although that is still the best way) it is art, pure
and simple, and it is our way of expressing ourselves.
